Island Party 2006
Ducks, Pirates etc
After the great success of the 2005 event - which took place in torrential rain and wind - the Carnival Committee decided to repeat things with additions, notably themed on Pirates. With more of everything, including the ram roast - but thankfully not so much rain or wind this time - the evening was well attended and raised slightly more money than last year, helping ensure the Carnival is well-funded for 2007.
There were three duck races this time because of the record number of ducks sold. Quick Keg from Hartland supplied the bar in conjunction with the George Hotel. A brilliant touch was added by the eight flaming torches which framed the event, reminding everyone of why we were all there.
