Hatherleigh Singer Cameron Mills RECORDS
By Neil Price, Co-Editor

April 18, 2018: Local Singer Cameron Mills, Shebbear College are delighted to report about the success of one of their leavers from last summer. Cameron Mills, from Hatherleigh, has been well known at Shebbear and locally for many years for his singing successes and skills as a charismatic compère at many performances. Now following his dream to be a professional singer, he has made some impressive progress in the last few months. Cameron has been signed to a management company and under his stage name, Thomas Cameron, has recorded his debut album as a tenor singer at the renowned Real World Studios in Bath, built and owned by music legend Peter Gabriel. The list of top recording artists who have also recorded there is truly impressive. Cameron is working with music producer Robert Macleod and sound engineer Scott Barnett (who has worked with Peter Gabriel and Beyonce, among many others). Although he began vocal tuition from an early age, Cameron acknowledges his long time at Shebbear College, from the early days with Mrs Jones and later with peripatetic vocal coach Mrs Skull and encouragement from the music department headed up by Mr and Mrs Parker, as pivotal to his classical training. The new Music facility at Shebbear gave him a wonderful place to practice and perform. The strings for Cameron's album were recorded in Dublin last month and last week he was back at Real World Studios mixing the album which is due out later this year. Shebbear College are also delighted to learn that Cameron has been invited to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe and Ludlow Festivals this summer, and look out for his many other local performances in the pipeline. Keep up to date with Cameron's progress at www.thomascamerontenor.com “I have witnessed Cameron’s voice draw people in until there is a silence in the air that you can hear. His voice is truly a gift.” Robert Macleod/Music Producer “The voice of character and serenity.” Kris Emmett, Director of Music, St Michael’s Church, Chagford
