June 8th 2009: We learn that 96 riders from 16 teams will be involved, with getting on for 100 support vehicles which will park in the market overnight. The race itself will start at 8pm, not 5.30 (see below - that's when preparations start! Phew!) June 5th 2009: We understand that the race will begin at 5.30am from the Sheep Sculpture near the market following presentations to the previous day's winners. A series of events is being planned by the Town to mark the occasion and the unique Hatherleigh Tar Barrels have agreed to be involved. Expect the Carnival itself to play a role too, along with other groups from the Town
May 6th 2009: news was broken exclusively on this web site that Stage 7 of the Tour will start from Hatherleigh on September 18th 2009 and race to Yeovil. The previous day, the Tour travels from Somerset to Bideford, so we expect a big 'circus' to camp somewhere in Hatherleigh overnight on the 17th. This page will follow progress in the lead up period from the Hatherleigh point of view, and publish pictures of the event itself. To start you off, here's a link to the ToB web site for further details.
